SHOW INFORMATION SHEET

  1. No jewelry or glasses on stage. (includes earrings)
  2. Do not wear your costume or dance shoes to the auditorium. Do not wear your costume home.
  3. If you have long hair, have it tied back from your face. All advanced ballet students: classic hair style. (no exceptions and NO GLITTER).
  4. Have your name in every piece of your costume. (includes your shoes/tights)
  5. Proper dress and shoes for tech rehearsal...no blue jeans, no flip flops.
  6. Dancers should be clean and neat: costumes neat and pressed, shoe ribbons tied square (double knotted), no underwear showing, tights pulled up (no runs or holes). Nothing in your hair that will show from stage. Use regular street makeup for stage but heavy on the eyes.
  7. Thursday and Friday no students are to be in the lobby or auditorium in costume. If we find you there, you will be sent back to the dressing room
  8. No gum, food or beverages in the auditorium, dressing room or backstage.
    • Students are allowed to have ice water in the dressing rooms. No beverages other than water will be permitted in the dressing rooms and no beverages will be permitted back stage or in the auditorium.
  9. Consume all food in the cafeteria and clean up after yourself.
  10. Do not eat in your costumes.
  11. NO cell phones, no ipods or any other electronic devices in the dressing rooms.


Rehearsal ..Show

  1. Tuesday and Wednesday we will have a seating arrangement for students in the auditorium. Thursday and Friday all students must remain in the dressing room throughout the performance. We will have a sign in and sign out sheet at dressing room door.
  2. Bring complete costume to all rehearsals and performances. (Tuesday and Wednesday are tech and dress rehearsals. )
  3. Be prompt for rehearsals and the shows. Be there 20 minutes early for rehearsal and one half hour before the show.
  4. No noise backstage or in the dressing room. Sound carries.
  5. Do not peek around the curtain while backstage.
  6. Know if you enter from Stage Right or Stage Left.
  7. Peanuts - Stage Left
    Pickles - Stage Right
  8. Do not touch any props or costumes backstage.
  9. Keep aisles clear during rehearsal and practice.
  10. Dancers and tech crews are the only people permitted back stage. If anyone has a special need, see the stage manager on stage left.
  11. If you miss your cue, you have missed your number. Be where you’re supposed to be and we will find you. Be in proper seats for tech and dress rehearsals, and in the proper dressing room for the shows.
  12. If you miss a tech or dress rehearsal you cannot be in the show.
  13. Notes and corrections will be given after every rehearsal. Do not leave until notes are given.


Parents

  1. If your child is having a picture taken in the lobby please schedule it so she does not miss a rehearsal.
  2. You can take still and video pictures on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We ask that you do not take any pictures on Friday evening.
  3. If you bring young children with you, please keep them under control. Do not allow them to run at will in the aisles or lobby.
  4. Lost and found is on stage left.
  5. All parents please leave the dressing room 20 minutes before the performance. Please advise your children to remain in the dressing room until intermission or the end of the show. Do not have them meet you in the lobby during the performance or call for them in the dressing room.
  6. The pass to the Thursday preview performance is for the balcony area only. Orchestra seats are for patrons.
  7. The first act is 1 hour 15 minutes and the ballet 1 hour in length. We ask that you remain seated until the end of the act.

We here at DCS do our best to teach all our students the disciplines of theater. The rules are in place so the show can be a positive experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.
